So I’m kind of in shock today cause I was asked to run for the board of this club which has approximately 100-150 members. I knew that the positions were going to be open soon but I really didn’t give it much thought because there are a lot of active members and I’m relatively new. So today A comes up to me and is like “Can I talk to you for a sec?” So I’m thinking what’s going on. So she sort of whispers to me that they want to put forth a good exec board for the coming year and when people were throwing out names, she said everyone kept mentioning my name O_o They were afraid to approach me because they know I have a busy schedule but they didn’t want to not ask me at all because they thought I would be perfect – outgoing, friendly, social etc etc. She was like “we’ll totally back you up. Other people have expressed interest but you know…” and she made a grimace and pretty much implied for the rest of the conversation that they’re weren’t very nice people and no one wanted those people to be on the board. So when I seemed more open then she called T and C over and I guess they’re running for membership and prez and they laid it on as well. I get along really well with them so they were like if you come on board it will be perfect. So I’m like “sure why not…” They seem to think it’s a done deal. A. said no matter who ran against me I would still be a shoo in.

Then they asked me for suggestions for the two remanining positions. I thought of P but I kind of dunno who else to suggest because I’m kind of oblivious as to who gets along with who and so I don’t want to look stupid. I thought P would be an obvious choice because me and her are always together and she’s just as friendly and social as me so it’s very odd to me that they didn’t approach her. She goes to almost every event I go to so… and knows the same people as I do so methinks something else is going on there. I wonder if people don’t like her? But she’s so nice so I’m really not sure… see this is why I’m not good at this political maneuvering lol. Maybe I tend to see the good in people and not their “faults”? Or I could totally be imagining this and they already asked her and she turned it down. Oh well I’m not gonna suggest anyone. Oh wait I did suggest someone, Karen but they said she was gonna do helping hands but their reaction was a bit weird when I suggested her so x I thought they were all buddies so I thought me suggesting her was reasonable but maybe not?

And actually Sugene said same thing to me at school. That everyone thinks me and Al are extremely nice and that they always mention that to her. O.o I thought she was weird for saying that too. No one really said I was that nice when I was in NY lol (jk).

But anyway I wasn’t all that inclined to do it when they first approached me but the more I think about it, there are so many ideas I have for improving the club and here’s a chance for me to help those things happen so I’m getting more excited.

K offered to show me all the stuff I need to do – she’s the present treasurer. So I’ll call her after the break. After I got home though, I was thinking does it make sense for her to show me this stuff even before I run? ^^;;;; Shouldn’t I wait till I get the position? Everyone is acting as if we all already have the positions lol x
