So we went over to Monica’s for dinner tonight.  I didn’t know she had invited Angela and Kevin so it’s very lucky that I brought enough dessert for everyone (I bought an assortment of pastries from Gelson’s).  It would’ve been so embarrassing if I was short cause these were pastries and not a cake/pie thing where you can divide it accordingly).  Note to self: bring pies and cakes next time for these unexpected surprises >.>

So far everytime I’ve gone to dinner/breakfast/lunch at a korean person’s place they always seem to have white plate/dinnerware.  Maybe that’s what I should get.  Presentation looks really good with white.  We have all these different plateware with designs all over them or zen like colors for the plain ones but somehow they don’t look as good with food on them.  I think white is the way to go.

Monica made honeydew and italian ham appetizer and the other appetizer was sliced tomato/mozzarella/avocado.  Those were really good.  The main entree was penne pasta dish of some sort – diff kind of sauce – forgot to ask her what it was – it wasn’t a tomato based sauce but didn’t seem like a heavy cream sauce.  She had cut strawberries and they served wine.  Was really good.

Kevin said that the movie Better Luck Tomorrow was a true story even though they made it seem as if it was fictional.  He said that it happened at his high school and there really was a guy who did all those things and was headed for Yale but went to jail instead.  x   I don’t remember the movie all that well except for that one scene in the garage or something and maybe some party scene.  I should watch it again.  He piqued my interest because he said it happened in Orange County.
