Al went to play poker with Kevin after we went to potluck dinner. He says the really big thing nowadays is called Texas Hold’em. He says it’s all over espn and everyone is addicted so he wanted to try it out. Guess it’s different from poker, faster pace and simple rules. He says it’s similar to carribean stud poker which is my game of choice in casinos. I always seem to win big bucks with that game. I’ve won around $400-500 several times that way. Kevin is going with a bunch of guys on saturday to do some casino tournament thing and Al was considering going but after last nite he’s like no way. He said one of the guys could read him like a book so there was no way he was going to go to a tournament where die hards play. He lost $40 last nite =P He says it’s not as bad as playing with my law school friends. My law school friends used to play much higher stakes and more complicated poker games. They used to fleece him. x

Anyway I really enjoyed last nite and that strawberry banana cream pie from Marie Callender’s that Kevin brought was absolutely delicious. He says it’s from that 99 plaza on culver. Must check it out again~

And then Kathy had these really nice curtains up and so I asked her what store she got them from since all my windows are bare. She told me she made them. X_x;;;;;;;;; Sooooo talented. She made these really nice pillows too. I was so amazed. Who knew people could sew? I didn’t think anyone could sew these days. Funny thing is, all along I thought she was korean – turns out she’s chinese. Her hubby is japanese. Al thought she was korean all this time too. More than half a year of knowing them, and I just realized last nite she was chinese -_-. She said the fabrics at Jo-Ann’s in Foothill (26672 Portola Parkway, Foothill Ranch, CA 92610 949 588-7420) are the best. None of the other Jo-Ann’s are as good. I’ll have to bring my mom in law there one day to check it out.
