*cries*

I liked it but it definitely wasn’t my favorite of the series. It felt more like a setup for the next volume. Not much action, just a lot of backstory but I did like how they developed more of Draco’s character (*waves H/D flag*). Draco – angst baby angst – I love it!! This book definitely supports more of the H/D ship *g*.

And I cried about Dumbledore~ Even now I’m still kind of hoping that Snape and Dumbledore had some sort of plan for this to happen. That Snape isn’t really evil and that Dumbledore’s trust in him was justified. (futile hope but there nonetheless – hope springs eternal). That somehow Dumbledore faked his own death so that Harry could fulfull his own destiny somehow. I mean Dumbledore had to have something more concrete to believe in Snape other than being sorry for telling Voldemort the part of the prophecy he overheard. That just doesn’t seem enough to me. Snape has grown on me so that’s why I feel sort of torn about his betrayal. I just want to believe that he felt he had no choice to do it because of his Unbreakable Vow, that he knew he would one day be put in that position, so he planned with Dumbledore how it might go down and therefore they planned how it would appear to Harry and others. Including the spell finishing so that Harry would believe that Dumbledore had died and Fawkes leaving too. That the love and revenge that would spring in Harry would drive him forward on his quest to kill Voldemort. Because although he lost his parents, he never really knew them. Sirius he also knew very briefly. Surely the loss of Dumbledore who he knew well and since the beginning, who represented the new life (away from the Durseleys) that he held so dear would give him the strength to go after Voldemort. I mean why should Dumbledore immobilize Harry if not to let him see how everything plays out. I’m really hoping Snape was just being sacrificial – he gave up a lot to save Draco from losing his humanity. Ok anyway, I know I’m hoping too much but I’ll cling to it for awhile lol.

The end was good though. Ron and Hermione supporting him like that gave me goosebumps – they’re such good friends~ I love that whole friendship thing. I thought that Ginny Harry relationship seemed weak though. He never really noticed her before and all of a sudden he does? I don’t know, didn’t really do it for me. Was kind of sudden. Or is it that she got prettier and more popular? Ok maybe I can buy it – I’ll have to dwell on it more.

No more Hogwarts – wonder how the next book is gonna be~

Edit: Oh yeah and Snape didn’t let Harry get killed by the other DEs. More evidence that maybe he’s not evil? *does more clinging* Or maybe Dumbledore knew his days were numbered and ordered Snape to be the one to kill him so that it wouldn’t be for no reason. Argh… My head hurts trying to think of how to turn this betrayal around lol.
