Pamela was amazing. Really talented. Glad I went to her show. Didn’t think she could carry a show all by herself. Jenny, Jenni, Xu, Lisa, Liz, Mary Anne, and Maureen were there. This girl Bernadette also showed up but I didn’t know her but I thought she looked like someone I had met the other day so I called her Christine x That was embarassing. Good thing I’m not likely to see her again. I also met Pamela’s long time pal Judi. She was really nice. She’s a makeup artist. Anyway Tim invited me to Pamela’s birthday party. I haven’t decided whether I want to go yet.

We went to Festival of the Arts on Saturday and saw Korean fan dancers, Lion dancers, Indian dancing, Balinese mask dancing (this one was boring) and Daion Taiko Drummers. Was all pretty cool. Afterwards we met up with Eva and Dennis in L.A. We went to Venice Pier and ate at The Terrace? Forgot the name exactly. I had tuna steak there – was delicious. Then we met up with Stanley and drove up to Hollywood Hills to eat dessert and drink at Yamashiro’s. The view was so cool and the restaurant was cool too. You can eat around a japanese garden. The music was loud and american though lol. Kind of didn’t match the atmosphere but I guess most of the people were there to drink.

Then we had a bbq the next day and Eva, Dennis, Stanley and Pat drove down to come over. Then we went to hang out by the pool. I was already kind of tired by then but they still wanted to go out to eat. I find that everytime we’re with Eva, we eat a lot x I must have gained 5lbs just from hanging out with her a couple of days. So we suggested Honda-ya’s which is like an authentic japanese food place. Eva went crazy and ordered a million dishes to share. Let’s see if I can remember most of them.

Grilled skewers of beef tongue, grilled shitake mushrooms, grilled okra, chicken wings, skewered gizzards, skewered pork belly/shoulder?, takoyaki of course, cucumber, ebi croquette, fried soft shelled crabs, miso “la”men as Eva called it, tuna tataki salad, crab/lobster? fried rice, beef, lamb, some kind of salted mushrooms (the really small ones), salty plum fish thingy – ok my brain is dead, I’ll have to come back and update this list if I remember more. I was sooo full – she totally went overboard. Stanley treated us.

We also had beer in chilled beer glasses – makes so much difference – was sooo good. Dennis also ordered Sapporo. They were teasing that we should serve men the beers in the “japanese” way. *rolls her eyes*

Eva wants to hang out tonight too but I think Al is really beat from too much hanging out lol.
