I watched episode one of Nobuta wo Produce since everyone was saying they liked it. It wasn’t as bad as I envisioned with the whole idol thing. It’s kind of quirky and reminds me of Perfect Girl Evolution. I sort of want to see where they go with this even though I’m not crazy about mean girls picking on a girl storyline. I’ll hang in there maybe for the hard subs cause the soft subs are annoying.

it’s not a mean girls picking on a girl storyline. the whole ‘mean girls’ thing wraps up after the first episode with a few little cameos. it’s good that you like it after the first ep. i didn’t like it till after the 3rd ^^”

anyway i was saying that it’s not really a mean girls picking on a girl storyline. that kind of gets wrapped up by the end of the first ep, although it makes a few small cameos later on. nobuta~ was one of those drama that started out looking like it’s building on a predictable overused plot, but then quickly morphs into something so much MORE. anyways the soft subs do suck, but if you can read chinese i have torrents for chinese subs that are much better with several mild inaccuracies.
i was a bit wary about the two boy idols as well. i’ve never really liked them that much, and i thought it was really just another marketing scheme by their company to roll in some more moolah. at least you liked the first episode, i didn’t really start liking it till after the 3rd, but it was like exponential love =D

Ah so there’s hope. I can’t read chinese but thanks anyway. I think the forum said someone was going to do a hard sub so I’m hoping for a cleaned up sub. I’m thinking the soft subs were just rush jobs (I hope) because they were really bad. I wouldn’t say I really liked the first episode but it has potential. I usually give a drama a chance if I can see the potential because I say most dramas do not do a good first episode.
