Having fun here. Was better the first few days though because the weather was decent but now it’s colder. I was freezing yesterday when we went to Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath. And omg it is sooooo expensive here. I thought New York and Japan were the upper limits in expensive so I thought nothing could phase me. I was so wrong. Perhaps it’s because the dollar is so weak here but I swear, I don’t know how anyone could eat here. Everything is twice as expensive as NY/OC. The cheapest price of a hamburger here (and might I say at divey places, not even fancy places) was $16 (of course not talking about fast food places) but seriously wtf is that about? Maybe it’s because we don’t know where to go but bleh. We ate at pretty good places though for other stuff. (I never actually ordered burgers I just used that as a comparison point).

I had great Vietanamese food for the first time. The last two times I had it were yucky and I went with my Vietnamese friend (she cooked and also took me somewhere). I’ve totally changed my view on Vietnamese food. We also had Indian food – the veggie samosa was to die for but the chicken tikka masala (my favorite Indian dish) was cooked differently so I didn’t like it as much. Anyway, we weren’t able to go out tonight because of the Tube strike. We walked around a bit looking for a place to eat (hard because of the strike) so ended up at the hotel restaurant. They turned away lots of starving people (lol) around 9pm because the kitchen was closing. Poor saps. Luckily we got there half an hour earlier. Saved. Man this keyboard is confusing. Anyway will be back later this week. Enjoying it and hope everyone is well~
