So I watched a bunch of dramas – Rondo (similar to Infernal Affairs with the moles), Gachibaka (GTO-like drama), Unfair (police woman drama), Wonderful Life (baseball drama with Sorimachi Takashi). Meant to watch Goong also but got tired and then I had to run out for the rest of the night. I also watched Brokeback Mountain. I’m only going to stick with Rondo – the rest I’m going to pass. I’m still going to try out Goong but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Brokeback Mountain was good but I don’t know what the hoopla is all about – the acting was great and the direction is good but I don’t know that the storyline is all that interesting other than they’re cowboys and gay x . Pretty simple premise – they fall in love, decide they can’t be gay in this “cowboy world” and meet each other every once in awhile while being married to other people. My sis in law cried but it left me pretty cold. I didn’t cry at all and I’m prone to crying. Is it that I’ve read so much yaoi/shounen ai stuff that the gay “can’t be together” stuff doesn’t phase me? I’ve read tons of GW/HP fanfiction with way more angst than this =P. My rl friend says I’m a hard sell on things (ie books and movies) – I wonder if over the years I’ve gotten more jaded about stuff which would be a shame since that makes it harder for me to enjoy stuff. Oh well.

On a different note – I’ve caved in and bought a rice cooker. My mom in law keeps bringing over her rice cooker and I feel bad about it so >.> I have now officially gone over to the dark side of Asian rice cooker owners. Blah. I bought the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 5-1/2-Cup Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker – whoa the price went up from when I bought it a few days ago =P Lucky!
