Spent the weekend decluttering – man I’m such a pack rat. I’ve finally made inroads though. I finally have acknowledged that I will never watch all those anime cds that I’ve burned over the course of the last 10? years and that my kids won’t watch them either because they can probably get higher quality files (anyone remember rms?). I threw away all my anime burned cds (I threw the vhs ones away long ago – remember the times when you could buy fansubbed tapes of anime?). I kept the ones we bought though obviously because I really liked them, even Fushigi Yuugi. But seriously, I had boxes and boxes of burned anime cds. It was time. Tons of anime I’ve never even heard of/recalled but some that kind of made me hesitate but I gave in and threw away anyway, even Yami no Matsuei.

I couldn’t throw away the film reels of the short I made while I was in film school though. I threw it in the garbage then I went back later and fished it out x I’m a loser. I did manage to throw away all the accompanying notes and paperwork associated with it though so it wasn’t totally a loss.

On a happier note, I managed to find my wedding video ) It has been missing in action for the last 3+ years. Had no idea where it went ever since we’ve moved to California. I wanted to transfer it to a digital format. We opened a comic book trunk (obviously haven’t opened it in ages) and lo and behold – several videos: wedding video, video of us skydiving and some unidentified NYU short we made amongst our full collection of Sandman comics which we weren’t able to chuck. We did chuck all the other comics including Elfquest. Man are we pack rats. Needless to say we aren’t nearly finished but hey throwing out all those cds was hard enough so I’m proud of myself. All those hours wasted downloading… ugh I could cringe.
