Dear Daddy (DD) forgot to make lunch for his son. Making lunch in the morning is an effort on his part to make life easier on Dear Mommy (DM) who has a new baby in the house. On this day though, he forgets. Mommy thinks, well, son is 8, maybe it might be time for him to make his own sandwich. He’s made them before anyway so it’s probably not a big deal. A lot of guilt accompanies this thought though – aren’t parents supposed to prepare school lunches? DM tells her son to make his own sandwich today.

Son’s response: “Ok so you want me to use short cuts?”

DM’s response: “What?”

Son’s reply: “Short cuts.” He goes to the fridge and points to the cold cuts.

DM’s really guilty response: “Um yes.”
