Life Lessons

I found it while surfing.  Just rip it out and insert them into clear non glare  non vinyl plastic sleeves.  You can put them in a binder. Use different colors of dry erase markers.  Wish I had learned of this earlier.  C and B have written all over many many worksheets.

It’s worth a try.  I think we should start implementinga modified “Choice Day” in April.  I’m going to try to work it out with Dh.

Oprah had on a pastor that started a movement of purple bracelets that promote a complaint free world. From the website:

“Scientists believe it takes 21 days to form a new habit and complaining is habitual for most of us. As Twain said, we must coax our old behavior down the stairs.”

Here are the suggested rules:

1. Begin to wear the bracelet, on either wrist

2. When you catch yourself complaining, gossiping or criticizing (it’s ok, everyone does) move the bracelet to the other arm and begin again.

3. If you hear someone else who is wearing a bracelet complain, you may point out their need to switch the bracelet to the other arm; BUT if you’re going to do this, you must move your bracelet first!

4. Stay with it. It may take many months but when you reach 21 days you will find that your entire life is happier, more loving, more positive and more abundant.

Worth a try? It goes along with all the positive thinking campaigning going on lately. Sometimes though it’s worth it to unload and move on then to keep it all bottled up inside. I think not dwelling on things is key but completely removing it from your life – I’ll have to think on this.

We went over to C’s for a tea party. She had really pretty tea cups. A, X, H, M, and J went. There were so many kids and babies. It was fun. C served a delicious spinach salad from trader joes. I must get that next time. She also made a great strawberry tiramisu. The tea was yummy. We used brown sugar cubes from Gelson’s. I ought to try that next time. We kind of tentatively said we would do MNO coordinator together for the next term. I think I may not do newsletter editor anymore and let someone else have a go at it.

We talked about housing. Apparently J’s hubby works for Ameriquest and was given until the end of the year. Feel bad for her. C told me that her 2100 sq feet house was bought for $515k 4-5 years ago. Damn. We moved out here too late. They all mentioned that Ladera Ranch is a good buy. Lots of property for the money.

This week is minimum day for B so I picked him up early. We planned out his “Pokemon Island” which is for his fantasy island project for school.

Al brought all the boys to TKD. I made some dinner in the meantime. We watched some CSI Miami.
