Real Estate

So we secured an inspection report.  Got real estate disclosure statements from the seller that we had to sign off on.  We had to provide supporting documents to our mortgage lender so that we could get a loan. We had to read over the application and make sure it was all correct.  The title report had to be ordered and a driveway appraisal had to be done.  Today was our deadline for all this to get done and we made it – yay!

We hosted our second Family Night out.  It was fun.  Reminded me of the days when we camped out in Central Park in NY for picnics under the stars while listening to symphonies or operas.

We also went house hunting in the morning.  Depressing.  Why can’t we find a house we like?  I’m a bit stressed over it.

We’ve been here over 3 years and we still haven’t explored Foothill Ranch or Lake Forest. So we went to Foothill Ranch Towne Centre. We had pretty good Peruvian food at “Inka Mama’s” for lunch. I had the Inka Special (rice, chicken, cabbage, green onions?). Was really tasty. I think Dh had the Cabrito Norteno which was stewed lamb. We also had the chicken empanadas with a lime sauce. Was really good with the lime sauce, not so much without. The place was hopping. We couldn’t figure out whether it was from the lack of any other restaurants besides Outback and Micky D’s or because they really did have their own loyal clientele. I concluded it was because it really was that good. They must have driven out the rest of the competition haha. For a strip mall, there really was a lack of restaurants period. We checked out Babies ‘R Us. They couldn’t read our gift card so I was quite perturbed. A JoAnn’s was nearby – only reason I think I would venture back out here.

We drove into the “Lake Forest Keys”. Houses on the lake with little jetty type boats. So cool. I would love to live here except it’s not Irvine. *cough*. There is a house available on P’s block in Woodbridge though for about 1.1m. She told me it was overpriced though. Said she thinks they remodeled the kitchen about 7 years ago but that they need to redo the bathrooms. Maybe I should get June to show us the place.

We went over to C’s for a tea party. She had really pretty tea cups. A, X, H, M, and J went. There were so many kids and babies. It was fun. C served a delicious spinach salad from trader joes. I must get that next time. She also made a great strawberry tiramisu. The tea was yummy. We used brown sugar cubes from Gelson’s. I ought to try that next time. We kind of tentatively said we would do MNO coordinator together for the next term. I think I may not do newsletter editor anymore and let someone else have a go at it.

We talked about housing. Apparently J’s hubby works for Ameriquest and was given until the end of the year. Feel bad for her. C told me that her 2100 sq feet house was bought for $515k 4-5 years ago. Damn. We moved out here too late. They all mentioned that Ladera Ranch is a good buy. Lots of property for the money.

This week is minimum day for B so I picked him up early. We planned out his “Pokemon Island” which is for his fantasy island project for school.

Al brought all the boys to TKD. I made some dinner in the meantime. We watched some CSI Miami.
