Family

J went to get his eyes and ears tested. For the eyes, they dropped different size balls in front of white piece of paper and the person Michael tracked movement of his eyes? J wore glasses that covered one eye. He had 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other which he said was within normal limits. He said kids don’t reach 20/20 until 6. For the ears, he put headphones and asked j to drop coin in cup each time he heard a noise. He passed it fine.

We went to 99 and costco afterwards. I ended up buying a 2-pack of nutella. We only really meant to buy water, Gatorade and milk. Oh well, nutella is delicious.

Testing wordpress for the iPhone…this photo was taken at kula which is a Japanese revolving sushi place we ate at on Friday night. $2 a plate. You can’t beat that!

So we watched some news show that was reporting on how male models were in a store to assist women in buying clothes for the men in their life by trying out the clothes for them.  They showed men with their shirts off.  C saw them and went “ew”.  I asked him why.  He said he didn’t like seeing their “hairy nibbles”.  ROFL.

We saw the Radio City Rockettes at the OC Performing arts center in Costa Mesa.  It was pretty cool and festive.  Definitely had xmas spirit.  People were dressed up in red outfits – was cute.  Think the kids really enjoyed it as well as my MIL.  J slept through half of it and he enjoyed the other half.  I was pleasantly surprised that he didn’t give us any trouble at all.

We ate lunch at Mitsuwa’s after that.  They had these New Year’s mochi things that I was tempted to buy just to try out since it was a Japanese traditional thing but I didn’t.  I’ve been trying to be really good about not impulse buying since we’re buying a new house.  I need to refrain.  Of course, I went to Target and that all went down the crapper.

It seems like just yesterday when you were a little baby. Now you’re so grown up. You have crushes on girls. You seem to like japanese girls – I suspect because you like anime. You’re really into Pokemon. You play all sorts of Pokemon games on your white Nintendo DS lite. You finished all the Harry Potter books this year and so you dressed up as a gryffindor/wizard this year for Halloween. You like playing Ragnarok Online and all sorts of other RPG type games. You like fantasy books a lot as well as fantasy movies. You have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. You still play soccer, baseball, basketball, handball. You’ve taken a little tennis. You’re a much better swimmer now and you’ve surfed here and there. You like heely-ing. You walk the dog on your own now to earn allowance. You sometimes walk home from school by yourself. You’ve cooked eggs all by yourself. You’re doing well in school and you’re a pretty good guy all around. You play guitar, violin and you’re taking a movie making class.  You’re a silly boy but I love you! Happy birthday!
